Amakhumbuza is non-profit organization (NPO) established in 2004 with the goal of providing tuberculosis (TB) and TB/HIV services. The organization provides services to War 24 and 25 of the Matshana Reserve 7B in UThungulu District. Their services include HIV Counseling & Testing (HCT), HIV literacy classes, adherence classes, directly observed treatment (DOT) support, TB screening and case identification and education on TB and HIV infection control.
Amakhumbuza Community Dev& Health Care
Amakhumbuza’s objectives includes: 1) increasing the TB cure rate to 85%; 2) improving TB case detection and control; 3) improving TB/ARV treatment compliance in Madlebe Tribal Authority by 75%; 4) increasing uptake of TB testing among HIV patients; and 5) increasing the number of patients adhering to their ART.
