Grantee Information: 

Stellenbosch University is one of the top four South African universities, Desmond Tutu TB Centre (DTTC) forms part of the Faculty of Health Science on Tygerberg Campus. DTTC is involved in research, training and community service and is located 40km from main campus of Stellenbosch University. Over the past 15 years, DTTC has been involved in multidisciplinary epidemiological and health systems research in a number of field sites in Western Cape. http://sun025.sun.ac.za/portal/page/portal/Health_Sciences/English/Centres/dttc

Purpose: 
To strengthen the pediatric cycle for TB care. This also includes: 1) improving the uptake and adherence of Isoniazid preventative therapy (IPT) in child contacts (< 5 years of age or HIV positive) of infectious adult TB cases; 2) improving the provider knowledge of childhood TB prevention care per the South Africa NTP guidelines; and 3) improving referral and reporting of children diagnosed with TB at the hospital levels to community clinics.
