Killer Disease Targeter (KDT) HIV/AIDS Project

Grantee Information: 

Killer Disease Targeter (KDT) Projects was established in July 2000 and was registered as a non-profit organization on September 16, 2002. KDT provides home-based care and orphan and vulnerable children support to families affected by HIV and AIDS. The organization has three inter-related projects namely: The Home Base Care, TB VCT and HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign, all providing client-specific services. KDT is a service delivery organization, which operates with other stakeholders on consultation basis. The organization’s main purpose arises from the fact that, there are historically disadvantaged communities, which need to be taken care of by rendering services that will enable them to understand the nature of this disease.

Purpose: 
To (1) reduce MDR-TB infections by using a community based model for identifying and supporting TB/HIV co-infected patients (2) reach the Millenium Development Goals (3) provide essential TB, HIV/AIDS service to the rural area and (4) provide community mobilization through community dialogues and public education through campaigns.
