The RCS is a non-profit organization (NPO) established in 2001 by Ms. Carole Mdluli. RCS was created in response due an increase of women testing HIV positive. The organization focuses on providing tuberculosis (TB) and HIV support services to vulnerable target groups. Their programs include: voluntary testing and counselling (VCT) on cases of TB and HIV, intensifying case findings, and preventative treatments among TB infected individuals. RCS operates in two areas of Gauteng – Johannesburg CBD and Ekurhelnei, Moleleki Section.
Rophe Community Services (RCS)
To intensify case findings, promote preventative therapy and increase curative rates. These goals will be accomplished through the following objectives: 1) provide TB and HIV collaborative activities at Rophe VCT sites; 2) create TB and HIV awareness in the community; 3) conduct health talks at various community settings; 4) promote adherence to TB and ARV treatment to all clients and their families; and 5) improve knowledge and skills of Rope’s staff members.
